Forwards to where

Project Proposal 2022 — Short-listed in [Seoul, 25 Episodes], commissioned public art competition by Seoul-Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism

Forwards to Where(2020) is a proposal for an interactive media installation unfolding in a long transfer passage in Nowon Station in Seoul.
Cameras are built into the media screen wall installed along one side of the 90m tunnel-shaped transfer corridor, and they capture people passing through.
The camera outputs a five-seconds delayed inverted image on the screen at the opposite end of the passageway.
The work captures images of people busy walking forwards, enclosing the space where the past, present, and future coexist as one crosses one’s past image walking in the opposite direction.
The work reflects humanity in this rapidly changing 21st century, throwing us a philosophical question: where is our ultimate destination?
